The normal hours are: Friday, Saturday and Monday 9-5pm and Sunday 12-5pm.

(TV's, computers, monitors, printers, etc.)

These items may be put out at the curb on your regular trash day as your "one large item" allowed per week.

Tax News:

The Houghton Lake School Board voted to move the collection of School taxes to the Winter Bill.
If you have any questions, please call them at 989-366-2000.

Denton Township now offers a locked drop box for your payments. It is located directly outside of the main doors on the brick wall.

Denton Township is not able to make ownership or name changes in our office. You will need to contact the Roscommon County Register of Deeds office at (989) 275-5931 for more information.

Township Meetings

Denton Township holds the regular meetings at 7:00 p.m. the first Wednesday of every month. In the event that a holiday falls on a meeting night, call the Township for the meeting date.

Dog Licenses

All dogs must be licensed. (Cats no longer require a license as of November 2015). Our office sells them from Nov. 1st through Feb. 29th. We require proof of rabies & spaying or neutering. The licenses are $2.00 for senior citizens 62+ and $5.00 for everyone else. If your pet is not spayed or neutered, the licenses are $10.00 for everyone. AFTER Feb. 29th, licenses are available for purchase at the Animal Shelter and Roscommon County Treasurer for $40.00.

Garage Sale Ordinance

Township residents will be allowed to have two sales per year for up to five consecutive days each. Permits will cost $3.00 each which includes two "Garage Sale" signs provided by the Township. One sign may be at the location of the sale and one at the road end. Only garage sale signs provided by the Township will be allowed, all others will be removed.

To report a streetlight that is out follow these steps:

Go to
Click on "FOR HOME" on menu bar
Drop down to "Report Power Out"
Drop down to "Report a Streetlight Problem" and Click on It.
Fill out online form and click on SUBMIT
